UK Corporate House Builders face massive lawsuit for inflating prices
Eligibility Criteria
- Timeframe: The property must have been purchased between October 2015 and 24 June 2026.
- Developer: The property must have been purchased from one of the following named housebuilders or their subsidiaries firms.
Housebuilders
- Barratt – Redrow Homes
- Bellway Homes
- The Berkeley Group
- Bloor Homes
- Persimmon Group
- Taylor Wimpey
- Vistry Group – formerly Bovis Homes – and including Countryside Partnerships
How the Claim Works
- The lawsuit follows an investigation by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) into housebuilders sharing commercially sensitive sales and pricing data.
- The lawsuit claims that data-sharing reduced market competition, causing buyers to pay more than they should have.
- The claim is funded by Burford Capital, meaning affected buyers bear no financial risk or upfront legal costs if the case is unsuccessful.
- The case was filed with the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) and now awaits tribunal certification to officially proceed as a collective action.
